RCM manufactures professionally designed thumb claw attachments for mini excavators in Idaho. Our thumbs are designed to fold up as close to the boom as possible. With 120 +/- degrees of rotation, for maximum use. Fits OEM, TAG, and aftermarket buckets. Made in the USA, using stronger AR400 3/4'' steel that will not wear down.
AR400 is a high-hardness, quench-and-tempered alloy designed for severe abrasion resistance in mining and heavy equipment, offering significantly longer service life under wear. Other companies use A36 is a soft, low-carbon mild steel. AR400 is more expensive but lasts longer in wear applications, while A36 is more versatile and cheaper.
Hydraulic cylinders are custom designed and manufactured in the USA. Our cylinders are high quality with a stronger internal rod to prevent bending. Made for 3500 psi, tested at 3000 psi. Designed for maximum possible stroke, the thumb folds up and out of the way when not in use. Less than even factory designed models. Utilizing side ports allows for the hoses to connect out of the way of use.
We offer kits for machines with different arm lengths, optional weld on base mounts, and custom kits upon request.
